Musician Profile
Richard Lancaster - Drums
1) Name: Richard Lancaster
2) Date Of Birth: 15/12/81
3) Place Of Birth: North Devon Hospital
4) Instruments Played: Drums/Didgeridoo
5) Previous Bands: Wow, memory don't fail me now... Contracept (years ago), Valium, (sounds like Phil's shopping list so far doesn't it?!) Silva (thoroughly enjoyed that one) Make Me Smile (still play in this one) Green (and this one) and of course Sonic Fusion!
6) Marital Status/Family: I'm not married, and I do have a family who all live pretty close by.
7) Favourite Band: Levellers/Dave Mathews Band/Guns 'n' Roses
8) Best Gig Attended: Metallica live at the Birmingham NEC about 1993 ish?
9) Musical Experience: Musical what now? I've been playing since about the age of 13, but on and off since I was about 7. Been in lots of bands, even played on ITV when I was in Silva, and live on Total Rock FM. I enjoy playing in the studio whenever I get chance (not that often), but live gigs are always the best. Co-directed a musical review in May '99 which was pretty successful too!
10) Musical Hero: Carter Beauford (Dave Mathews Band)/Lars Ulrich(Metallica)/Stuart Copeland(The Police), there's so many!
11) Top 5 Girlband Members Arses: Easy, Kylie (obviously), Debbie Harry, one of the All Saints, her sister, and Phil Horton
12) Favourite Food: Anything hot and spicy
13) Favourite Drink: Rye and dry is always pleasant/cream soda!
14) Favourite Film: Goodfellas
15) Turn Ons: See number 12!
16) Turn Offs: Arrogance, thongs that poke out of the top of peoples trousers and Rob Yeo
17) What Was The First Album You Bought: With my own money, I think it was 'Levelling the Land' by the Levellers, the first album I owned was 'PUSH' by Bros! And I may as well admit now, before you read Charmain's profile, that I did indeed have a Bros jumper.
18) Any Nightmare Gig Stories: Absolutely millions, but they all involve Rob Yeo, so I better not mention them here!
My congratulations on a wise choice!
By visiting this page, you've added to the growing number of people who actually think drummers are musicians. Oh dear me, you do have a lot to learn.
Of course I'm only joking, you have arrived at the heart, rhythm and soul of the band...the drums, and more importantly, the drummer!
Sat at the back of the room, all by himself is the drummer, a Mr Richard Lancaster, or animal as Phil affectionately has called this picture (we'll keep that between them!)
If you've got anything that even vaguely resembles a drum, Richard will gladly play it, and often give a jolly nice beat too!
